Bergen Scrap Metal, Bergenfield, New Jersey is seeking to hire Laborers; Starting at $17.00/hour, Full Time, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. U.S.A. Work Authorization Required. Looking for a dependable individual with reliable transportation who is interested in working in the exciting environment of the metal recycling industry. Experience Needed: ● Skills with heavy duty power tools Required. ● Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices ● Previous scrap metal yard or construction/demolition experience a plus. ● Job Training Onsite - must be willing and able to learn how to identify all types of metals and how to sort, clean, prepare and process metals with proper use of tools and equipment. Job Requirements: ● 18 years of age or older ● Must Pass Drug Screen ● Must have ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency ● Must have good customer relation skills, enjoy hands on work, and work well with others. ● Must have ability in performing manual intensive labor ● Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time and lift and manipulate heavy material up to 50 lbs. ● Must be comfortable working outdoors in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions for extensive period. ● Good communication skills ● Be able to work as a team player ● Receive and follow verbal directions ● Ability to withstand loud settings ● Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations Job Description/General labor duties that may include but not limited to: ● Job Training Onsite - must be willing and able to learn how to identify all types of metals and how to sort, clean, prepare and process metals with proper use of tools and equipment. ● Sweeping, shoveling and general clean-up of any area and/or equipment throughout the yard ● Keep grounds clear of debris and maintain safety standards ● Perform daily inspections on equipment/tools reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor ● Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist co-workers as needed
