Description

You are cordially invited to participate in a networking and educational event to discuss efforts and share resources aimed at reducing cancer deaths amongst firefighters. The incidence of cancer amongst firefighters is well documented. Research from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has concluded that firefighters face a 9 percent increase in cancer diagnoses, and a 14 percent increase in cancer-related deaths, compared to the general population in the U.S. The purpose of this luncheon is to build partnerships, share and enhance knowledge, and identify solutions aimed at reducing the incidence of cancer amongst firefighters. We have invited Fire Chiefs from approximately two dozen fire departments across Northeast Florida to join us and engage in open dialogue that will be of great value to you and all in attendance. While we respect that your time is precious your presence, or that of your designee who represents your department’s senior leadership, is needed so that everyone can benefit from your many years of experience and your department’s operational and policy perspective on this critically important topic. Luncheon will be catered by Firehouse subs
