The event is open to the public, there is no admission fee, and registration is not required. Friends of Richfield Heritage Preserve is a nonprofit advocacy group partnering with the Richfield Joint Recreation District to preserve, protect, enhance, and promote Richfield Heritage Preserve. Proceeds from this event will go toward the Friends ongoing fundraising campaign to restore and preserve the iconic 100-year-old Kirby’s Mill, situated within this awe-inspiring 336-acre public park and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mill was built in 1922 by well-known inventor Jim Kirby---who had more than 150 patents to his name and focused his career on "eliminating the drudgery of housework". It was used to generate electricity to power his home and workshop (located inside the mill). For further information and updates, check the Friends website at friendsofrhp.org or call 330-659-4750
