The Brazos Valley Crisis Intervention meeting will be held September 29, 2022, at 1130 am. The location will be at the College Station Police Department (800 Krenek Tap Road, College Station, TX, 77840). Lunch will be provided, and we will have Alyse Ferguson speaking. Alyse Ferguson is the Chief Attorney of the Collin County Mental Health Managed Counsel Program (MHMC.) She is responsible for managing the specially trained attorneys, who represent indigent defendants diagnosed with mental illness, as well as serving as the Point of Contact for Mental Health Cases in Collin County. She is a graduate of Angelo State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice, a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Wesleyan School of Law. Ms. Ferguson presents on the topic of mental health and the Managed Counsel program in Collin County, and she has been a guest presenter at National conferences as well various conferences around Texas. Ms. Ferguson has been honored for her work as the recipient of the 2015 National Legal Aid and Defender Association Social Engineer and Trail Blazer Award for her work towards advancing social justice, the 2016 Texas CIT Award of Excellence, the 2016 Mental Health America Pam Blumenthal Memorial Award, the 2016 Collin County CIT Award of Excellence, and the 2016 Women and Law, Louise B. Raggio Award and most recently The Texas Association of Counties Best Practices Award for the Competency Restoration Program. Alyse will talk about the eliminate the wait tool guide and legal questions you may have. Alyse serves a key role with the Texas Judicial Commission on Mental Health.
