Description
Ladies Night: Impact of Vitamins on Women’s Health Join us for Ladies Night on Wednesday, October 12 at 6:15pm! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, we will be hosting an educational event with local experts. We will have one of our favorite Nurse Practitioner’s from CHI St. Elizabeth, Mary Jane Glade, visit with you all about the impact of vitamins on women with breast cancer. Angie Asche and Dana Norris from Eleat Sports Nutrition will also be attending to speak on the effects of vitamins on women’s overall health at all ages. We will also cover the risks of breast cancer, the latest in detection technology (such as their new bilateral breast machine) and ways we can provide support for those that are or have been affected. Our neighbors have generously donated raffle items for the night as well. Tickets will be available for purchase on the night of the event and winners will be announced when the Q&A concludes. We will also be accepting free-will donations at the door. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to two local organizations on behalf of local runner, mother and friend, Amy Frankorter. Project Pink’d and Chairs to Recovery have worked with Amy from the day of her diagnosis, surgery, treatment and recovery and will continue to help her during her survivorship. The event will start with check-in at 6:15pm and the talks will start promptly at 6:30pm. Appetizers and refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you all there! ABOUT THE SPEAKERS: Mary Jane Glade DNP, APRN-NP: Mary Jane is a Nurse Practitioner at CHI St. Elizabeth. Mary Jane oversees and is the sole practitioner at the High Risk Prevention and Survivorship Clinic. She has a passion for prevention and helping patients understand their risk of various cancers and conditions. Advocating for, guiding, and educating women with breast cancer or who are at an increased risk of breast cancer has been a focus of her practice for many years. She is married, has three children, enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, and loves to be outside swimming, gardening, and playing with bubbles and sidewalk chalk! Founder and CEO of Eleat Sports Nutrition, Angie Asche: Since founding Eleat Sports Nutrition® in June 2014, Angie Asche has worked with hundreds of high school, college, and professional athletes nationwide in MLB, NFL, and NHL. Whether assisting an adult with weight management or educating an athlete on what to eat to improve their performance, she has a passion for helping others achieve their goals and teaching them how to make healthy eating a part of their daily lifestyle. Dana Norris MS, RD, CSSD of Eleat Sports Nutrition: Dana always wanted a career where she could assist individuals in making positive lifestyle changes, which is why she pursued a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It wasn’t until her senior year of college, while coaching high school softball and training for her first half-marathon, that she found her passion for understanding how nutrition impacts performance. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Nutrition and complete her dietetic internship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before joining the Eleat team, Dana worked with hundreds of college athletes in the Performance Nutrition Department at Northwestern University. She has experience working with a wide variety of individuals, including endurance athletes and team sports athletes. Dana is passionate about helping her clients make positive and sustainable lifestyle changes to improve performance and overall health. She believes nutrition is highly individualized and is passionate about working closely with her clients to figure out what works best for them.
