A series of classes designed to share rhythms that are used in Latin dance music. These dance rhythms can be used for a wide range of music styles. Some of the styles are Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Zouk, Milonga, Kizomba, and Tango. The techniques can be done with and without a partner and can be equally enjoyed when dancing with anyone. This was an amazing connection-building class at Burning Man that honored everyone and their experience level. Dance Social is a music and dance event company based in Topanga, CA. Influenced mainly by playing bass and listening to a variety of live music at his Mother's nightclub and later event space/Dance studio. Instructors from Argentina, Puerto Rico, London, New York, Africa, Brazil and various other influential dance havens, would come teach and perform at his Mother, Babs's event center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Playing bass, teaching partner dancing and Djing has been the trinity of creative inspiration for Christian for over 25 years. Rachel Stafford Rachel Stafford began training in ballet at age three and studied various styles of dance such as modern, jazz, tap, and hip hop. She attended the University of South Carolina to further her training and graduated with a BA in Dance Performance and Choreography. Following, she joined the U.S. International Ballet Company in Wilmington, NC. Here she discovered ballroom and partner dance, as well as a passion for teaching. During this time she also trained and performed in Italy with the Piacenza Art Ballet. Rachel enjoys creating connection through movement and sharing her passion with all ages.
