Description

Greetings! You are cordially invited to attend the WVU 22nd Annual Homecoming PartyWalk, a Stroll Competition, hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Pi Mu chapter, seated at West Virginia University. Strolling is a line dance done by members of NPHC Greek organizations; usually done at a party or a stroll competition. The theme for this year’s Party Walk Competition will be Halloween. This is a competitive and intense event. Therefore, teams we bring in are encouraged and required to perform beyond the standard strolls used in the club or college party. Past competitors and champions have brought Step/Stroll routines to a high level; implementing acrobatics, unique forms of dance, theatrics, complex steps, etc. This event is a family-friendly affair.  Important things to remember: Light refreshments will be sold. Doors will open at 7:15 PM with the show beginning promptly at 8:00 PM.  Tickets will be $7 Early Bird, $10 General Admission, and $15 at the Door. There will be approximately 300 seats available. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.--------- Brief Pi Mu Chapter History: Brother Akers and Brother Karim arrived on the campus of West Virginia University in the early 1980s after leaving Boston University. Upon arrival, they noticed that there were other forms of Greek life on campus, but none of Alpha, so they pushed to Charter a Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The late Brother Anthony Akers and Brother Eddie Karim chartered the Pi Mu Chapter on September 4, 1984, in Morgantown, WV. Akers and Karim hail from the Sigma Chapter - the same chapter that Brother Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a part of.  Pi Mu has since served the community in keeping with the fraternity’s mission. The Chapter has also extended its borders to include Fairmont State University and West Virginia Wesleyan College.
