NEW LONDON, CT — About a dozen staffers at The Williams School in New London were given the coronavirus vaccine in error, according to NBC CT. The state Department of Public Health said it was a "notification and user error" that resulted in a small number of people receiving the vaccine early.
A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention application used to manage administration of the vaccine prompted the school's coronavirus coordinator to send in employee contact information. Then employees received an email saying they were eligible for vaccination and made an appointment, according to NBC CT.
The school and health officials became aware of the issue and have canceled all other appointments that resulted from the error.
