Frank's Refuse is a local, small, family-owned business in Norwalk, CT. We're looking for a person to work the garbage route and learn to drive it. Possibility to advance quickly to a driver position with a set residential route. You would be responsible for assisting the garbage truck driver on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling in Norwalk, CT. Position requires a Connecticut driver's license but DOES NOT require a CDL license. Garbage pick up is often done manually or by pushing toter to tipper. You would lift and carry trash bags, bulk items and containers to the truck for disposal. Climbs onto and off of the truck step. Operates packing mechanism to compact waste into the truck. Ensure garbage and recyclables at residences are picked up and transferred properly. Perform a variety of manual duties in the clean-up of scattered refuse. Clean up the area around accidental spills and ensures customers containers are replaced properly. Typical work hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday Friday from 6am - 3:30pm. This could be a full time job. There may be a need to work during emergency situations and assist other routes to complete daily work.
