8th Annual R-Phils $1000 Battle of the Bands

Greetings from Baseballtown, The Reading Fightin Phils are excited to announce details regarding a huge FREE concert event taking place at FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday, October 15th from 1-4PM The 8th Annual “$1000 Battle of the Bands” presented by the String Tree & Ron Procopio Custom Guitars will be a great afternoon of live music and family fun at FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Reading Fightin Phils. Thanks to the String Tree & Ron Procopio Guitars, we will once again be giving out $1000 in prize money to bands this year! We are now accepting submissions for Battle of the Bands participants. Please feel free to share the opportunity with anyone that might be interested in participating. We will have a “house band” performing between sets throughout the event on a side-stage, while local original & cover bands are invited to take the main stage as part of the “Battle of the Bands”. Each participating band will have approximately 15-20 minutes on stage. All ages and genres of music are welcome, whether original or covers. A backline for the stage will be provided (details below) and the String Tree will provide $1000 in prize money divided between the 3 top ranked bands. Bands will be ranked according to the following: - Online pre-vote leading up to event (25%) - Number of people mentioning band’s name at the gates (25%) - Audience reaction (25%) - Panel of Judges (25%) The following gear will be available: (list of specific amps will be sent to participating bands soon) - 5pc drum kit w/stands (drummers will need own cymbals & kick pedal) - 2 Electric Guitar amps - 1 Bass amp - 4 vocal mics with stands - 2 Direct Boxes available for keyboards, acoustic guitars, etc. Bands will use the Fightin Phils house sound system which includes full PA, sub, and 4 monitors. Space is limited for the Battle of the Bands, so please contact Todd Hunsicker today with any questions, or to request your place in the line-up. Participating bands all shared very positive feedback in past years. If you are not booked on Sat 10/15, or you have a local gig later in the evening, we hope you can be involved!
