Job description: Shop Manufacturing Assistant The individual will be doing hands on work to assist our aircraft repair technicians with some of the tasks they perform in the course of repairing aircraft parts and components. The assistant will be responsible for helping to clean, paint, repair, and trim aircraft parts to assist the technicians in performing their tasks. Training, technical documents, and oversight are provided by PG Aerotech management and shop personnel. There will also me some routine clean-up and maintenance tasks involved in this position Responsibilities: Perform tasks as assigned by Repair Station management or senior repair technicians. Perform cleaning, painting, coating, pressing, and trimming of aircraft parts in accordance with instructions and training provided by Repair Station personnel and in accordance with written procedures. Correctly, concisely, and legibly fill out all company forms and reports as required by management (both written and online). Work with co-workers to achieve goals and objectives set by management. Assist in basic shop upkeep and maintenance including routine cleaning of the technician’s work area and periodic shop maintenance assignments. Assist shipping and receiving department as necessary to help package, unpackage, part mark and prepare items for shipment. This position will include some maintenance, janitorial and cleaning tasks as part of the Manufacturing Assistant’s position. Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external representatives, including technicians, management, and similar. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English is a requirement of this position. Required Skill and experience: The ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings as well as a basic background check. Two years of similar or related work experience; similar manufacturing, cleaning and/or assembly line experience will be considered. The ability to follow instructions and work to a written procedure concisely and accurately. Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. Applicants must be able to follow instructions and have an attention for detail accurately and consistently. Ability to lift items and packages up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods of time while working. Experience using a computer. Punctual and reliable.
