A Black mother in NJ is 7-8 x times more likely to die from a pregnancy related complication than a white women. Most of these deaths are preventable. It's time we take action in New Jersey to improve outcomes for our community.
“Aftershock” is co-directed by Tonya Lewis Lee and Paula Eiselt, This groundbreaking documentary that follows the lives of two bereaved Black fathers (Bruce Mcintyre and Omari Maynard) as they navigate life and fatherhood after the preventable deaths of their partners, Amber Rose Issac and Shamony Gibson.
