The College Leadership Workshop is an annual event hosted by Rice Vietnamese Student Association designed to empower high school students with the knowledge and support to apply to college. The event is led by student volunteers from universities in Houston who are eager to share their insights on college life, academics, and the admissions process. Our goal is to help high school students in the application process no matter where they want to attend college.
The event will consist of a series of workshops covering a variety of topics: from tackling essays and extracurricular activities, to applying for financial aid and choosing the right college. Submit your essays for the opportunity to receive feedback from college students! We will provide a glimpse of Rice college life and dispel some common myths and fears about college. Additionally, we have a special guest coming to be our Keynote Speaker to give advice and inspiration to the students.
CLW will be especially helpful for Vietnamese parents and students, as there will be Vietnamese-speaking college students available to answer any questions. However, students of all backgrounds have attended in the past and are definitely welcome to attend!
Students and parents are encouraged to register. We will provide breakfast, lunch, and all workshop materials. Students will also receive a CLW T-shirt!
