Learn about common ways one can help improve and keep the air in Southern California clean while also learning about some of the natural fauna, birds and wildlife in the area. Meeting up in the parking lot of the North Atwater Park located right along the Los Angeles River. The CA Clean Air Day Bike Ride has two routes: A shorter (5-7 miles) Family/Nature Ride.A longer (15-20 miles) Griffith Park Ride.Schedule Meet-up at 9:30 AMRides leave between 10:10 and 10:20 AMReturn for some food and drinks at Spoke Bicycle Cafe around NoonOptional supported rides from Spoke Bicycle Cafe back to North Atwater Park starting at Noon. Location Starting in the Parking Lot of North Atwater Park: 3900 Chevy Chase Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90039 Ending at Spoke Bicycle Cafe: 3050 N Coolidge Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90039 Routes Family/Nature Ride (5-7 miles) for families, kids and cyclists who’d like to learn more about the local fauna, birds, wildlife, and upcoming improvement projects along the LA River. This is a no-drop, fully supported ride limited to 40 participants.Griffith Park Ride (15-20 miles) for more experienced cyclists who like to enjoy nature but also like to get some miles in. This is a no-drop, supported ride that will be broken up to two or three groups of no more than 50 participants each. Bicycle helmets are required for all participants. FAQs: Do you have an age limit? Yes. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No children under 12 years old, unless parents can attest their child is capable of riding the route length. Will there be a bike mechanic? Yes, there will be a mechanic available to do simpe adjustments. Do I need to bring my own water? Yes, bring your own water however, if you do forget, we will have water at the start. What are the routes? The 5-7 mile ride will be all along the LA River, 100% on a bicycle path. The 15-20 mile ride will be on the LA River Bike Path and bike lanes in Griffith Park - 50% on a bicycle path and 50% on roads in a bike lane.Thank You!
