We will explore the underground plant ecosystem--soil and compost crucial to supporting plant health.This workshop supplies materials necessary to create the garden (container, soil, seeds or plants, fertilizer, etc. ) Texas A&M University Garden Course funded, in part, by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).Session will Include:Identification of a plant's needs and the main components of a loamy soil (Sand, Silt, and Clay).Evaluation of appropriate soils to support plants.Identification of materials best for home composting.Creation of an eco-friendly compost.Workshop Details:WHEN: Saturday, September 24, 2022TIME: 10am - 11amWHERE: Beauty's Community Garden: 3201 Airline Dr. Houston, TX 77022RSVP starts Sept 10th: Limited Capacity and Space.
