Description

Border to Bayou is a real life film highlighting the bond created between individuals who have a passion for real adventure and wild places. The story follows three anglers from very different backgrounds traverse the entire Texas coastline in a seventeen and a half foot poling skiff: Mexico to Louisiana. Witness the raw grit, resilience, and freedom of the Texas coast, as well as some of its urgent existential threats. Texas is known around the world for its cowboy culture, football, and downright bigness. However, it is often overlooked as a shallow water ocean fishing destination. In fact, it isn’t even known for its’ general outdoor recreation as the Western states have millions more acres of public land. The anglers in this film are determined to show the spectacular diversity of angling opportunities in a different kind of awe-inspiring setting, and why it is so worth fighting for. The Texas coast may not be on many refrigerator postcards, but it has a rough beauty like nowhere else. The three anglers are joined by friends along the way and we are reminded of the simple importance of doing hard things and pursuing something worthwhile with others. This film will leave your skin hot, lips cracked and salty, and your clothes sandy. This film was produced by Going Native. A portion of each ticket goes to the Galveston Bay Foundation and the work that they are doing to protect the vital natural resource we’re all connected to. Your ticket also doubles as your first raffle entry - we will draw the raffle after the screening of the film.
