For the seekers who no longer fit the status quo, it's time to come home. We've repurposed a massive, vintage military tent, equipped with our HI-FI sound system and set up camp in the middle of the Crossroads. MISSION: After checking in at the front desk, make your way through the 14ft gates and prepare to be transported to a sonic paradise. Life in the NOW. All together under one roof, the dance will set us free. Experience a unique rotation of the finest, local music selectors and international talent. Everyone entering the space is an active contributor. Together we become the fabric of what is possible. Find your rhythm at BARRACA. As the season draws to a close we'd like to extend a token of appreciation for your continued support of BARRACA. All advance tickets will be discounted to $15. FRIDAY OCTOBER 7 PLASTIC ELECTRONICS / TITO FUEGO As we punch the clock on the the final first Friday of the season, we hand over the HIFI keys to two Kansas City veteran selectors. A special autumn evening of aural poetry, slow chug and deep, hypnotic grooves. Not to mention a few late night, head-turners. SATURDAY OCTOBER 8 - "BACK TO 1974 DISCO FINALE" DAN COOL / CYRUS D / SIRQUEEN All aboard as we travel back to 1974. On this night, we push back the curtains to a visual disco fantasy. As angel dust rains from the sky, the dance floor unfolds into a gold drenched oasis. Come early as Dan Cool, sautés the early evening with his stash of rhythmic, hip shakin' treasures. Followed by Lawrence legend, Cyrus D who has a special delivery of rare, transcendent disco cuts, sure to pull your head into the clouds. Taking us deep into the night, disco diva, SIRQUEEN makes his Barraca debut with a mission to send us off into disco oblivion.
