Description
Our guitarist headed upstate to live in the woods, so we need someone to rock out our big post-punk grunge riffs. Nirvana is a big influence, but so are the bands that inspired them like Stooges and Sabbath, as well as pop like the Pixies and Bowie. A lot of 2000's post-punk bands influence our sound (along with the bands that inspired them, of course). Basically, we like badass riffs with punk energy that gets the crowds moving, but we also know the value of quiet to add emotional punch to our melodic rockers.
Virtuosity is a thing, but Cobain is a perfect illustration of emotion trumping flawless technique. A certain level of technique is required, but it's always a means to the end of rocking out. If anything, perfection is suspect to the whole endeavor.
We have more than a full set of songs, plus a bunch in our pocket. We've released an EP and look to record again in the coming months, potentially a full album. Our ambition for the coming year is to build bigger crowds locally with an eye on festival gigs and opening slots for next-level bands by next summer.
No hard drugs or unreliable people. Female guitarists are very welcome. Being on-time for two-hour weekly rehearsals in Brooklyn is considered a given, your parts already practiced.
If this musical enterprise sounds like your jam, we'd love to hear some samples of your playing and a little bit about yourself. Looking forward to it!
