October 17-22. 2022 is IZE on Hunger and Food Security Week in Butler County.
The goal is to encourage people to RealIZE how food insecurity impacts our neighbors, EmpathIZE with those persons experiencing food insecurity, and MobilIZE, as a community, to change the current reality in Butler County.
Stick a Fork in Hunger has challenged Butler County individuals, business, social and civic groups, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, local governments and k-12 schools and youth groups to do something to reduce food insecurity across Butler County.
We want to share what is collected on October 22, 2022 and contribute to your food pantry so you can distribute items to those you serve. If your organization registers to collect items, you must be able to come to Butler SUCCEED 150 N. Main St in Butler between 12:30-3:00 pm on October 22, 2022. Items will be boxed and there will be some support to help load items into your vehicle.
IF we reach our goal of 2 tons of food, we hope to support up to 10 pantries/cupboards. Items will be provided to organizations on a first registered, first served basis.
Thank you for what you do everyday! We look forward to working with you.
In the weeks following, Stick a Fork in Hunger! Great stories and outcomes will be publicized via local and social media.
