He has a civil law degree from DePaul University College of Law, a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Pope St. John Paul II appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop to the late Archbishop of Chicago, Francis Cardinal George, in 2003. On June 22, 2010, Bishop Paprocki was installed as Bishop of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School.
