Art is a way we process, wrestle, and eventually come to understand the emotions and feelings we experience. It is also a way we can express rather than hold them in. This concert engages the audience through a unique collaboration with two local visual artists, Betsy Cole and Melinda Driscoll, who will provide a window into their creative process. Using “starters” (prints from the first brush strokes of Melinda and Betsy’s paintings) and Crayola markers, audience members will be invited to create art in response to the music. Additionally, the audience will be asked to lend their voices to one of the performed pieces—blending their voices with the ensemble to create something greater than the individual.
