Since then, I Get Wild has performed seasonally in and around NYC, playing shows at NYC’s Joe’s Pub, the FM Bar in Jersey City, Littlefield in Brooklyn, and Sultan Room in Bushwick. In December of 2021, the band will be a featured special guest at The Hold Steady’s annual holiday shows at Brooklyn Bowl. At a young age growing up in Louisville Kentucky, Cotton began playing guitar along to the sounds of popular rock and blues artists, influenced by Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, and Mississippi John Hurt, who intrigued Tyrone with his “ finger pickin’ and soft, wispy voice.” Over time, Cotton developed a style of writing that blended soul, folk, blues, jazz, and rock n roll. Recognized for his stirring voice and lyrics, Cotton is a staple in the Louisville music scene, collaborating through the years with Steve Fergueson (NRBQ), Jim James, David Amram, Will Oldham, and Louisville Orchestra conductor Teddy Abrams. Tyrone has toured the United States and Japan, playing on bills with Leon Russell, Josh Ritter, Johnny WInter, Anais Mitchell, Dawn Landes, and Joe Russo's Almost Dead. www.tyronecotton.com
