This event is inspired by the book ‘Black Fortunes’ written by Shomari Wills. “Between 1830 and 1927, as the last generation of blacks born into slavery was reaching maturity, a small group of men and women broke new ground to attain the highest levels of financial success.” Many of them used real estate to gain their fortune. We want to use their stories to engage the community into ownership, and to provide the resources necessary to participate.
