FEATURED IN THE 'RIVIERA ORANGE COUNTY MAGAZINE' - MODERN LUXURY SPOTLIGHT: Growing up, Charity Morsey's parents ran a home for those in need. "I was raised to live out my name Charity through my life's calling," she says. Over the last two decades of her impressive public service career, Morsey has acted as the first special assistant on international affairs for the Science and Technology Directorate at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a senior policy advisor on nuclear nonproliferation at the U.S. Department of Energy under President George W. Bush. She also served as an analyst in the California Governor's Office of Homeland Security. It was through this work that she learned about the impact of human trafficking and slave labor on women and children, which inspired her to launch her own nonprofit. Generation for Freedom is developing a safe house for survivors of human trafficking and other forms of slavery. They also provide services to reconstruct and restore lives, while cultivating a community that helps people rebuild their self worth. "We provide the link that breaks the chain of generational exploitation," says Morsey. My hope is to free women and children from human trafficking by raising up this next generation for lives of purpose through a self-sustainable home.
