Saturday, October 1st the Lakeville Lions Club are hosting a free community-wide Health & Wellness Fair at the Lakeville Heritage Center, 20110 Holyoke Ave, Lakeville. This event runs from 10am-2pm and offers a broad array of activities: Flu shots for ages 5+, and free glucose, cholesterol, BMI and blood pressure testing. The Lions are also conducting free children's vision testing. At this first annual event, individuals and families can enjoy educational sessions focused on exercise, nutrition, and yoga. Attendees can register to win gift cards for healthy meals, nutritious shakes and teas, and personal training sessions. There are also give aways for all ages such as, Brownberry Bread, water bottles, sunscreen, draw string gym bags, and more! As a part of the club's focus on ending childhood cancer, attendees are invited to bring new and unused kids games, coloring books, and stuffed animals. These donations will go to the Minneapolis Children's Hospital Cancer Research Center to offer a little joy during challenging times. The Lions are also collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids to donate to those in need. The Lakeville Lions Club has partnered with many local businesses to make this a fun and educational event. These include, Actin Fitt Gym & Prevention Center, Healthsource Chiropractic of Lakeville, Lakeville Behavioral Health, Lakeville Dental Associates, Bimbo Bakeries, Lakeville Nutrition, Raberge’s Leadership and Martial Arts, Remedy Bar, Green Lotus Yoga, McDonald Eye Care, Cub & Cub Pharmacy, and Chef Neal's Healthy Meals.
