Bring the kids for FREE seasonal art and activities with the Miami Children’s Museum at The Shops at Midtown Miami, 3401 North Miami Avenue, once a month from September to December. The activities will take place at the center’s M Park located near West Elm and Nordstrom Rack. On Saturday, September 10 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., get the new school year off to an out-of-this-world start. Create whimsical night skies based on colorful, far-away galaxies. Pink, purple and blue-hued paints will be accented by celestial objects made of aluminum foil in these take-home masterpieces. On Saturday, October 8 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., bring the family for a special Halloween show featuring “Monsters Under the Bed.” There will be two performances: one at 12 pm and one a 2 pm. The show is 45 minutes long. On Saturday, November12 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., create your own Thanksgiving holiday placemats using leaves from local South Florida forests. Make rubbings and arrange them in a create laminated collage that can be taken home and shared. On Saturday, December 10 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., get into the spirit of the holiday season with a musical story time as you read stories and sing songs, while celebrating various cultures.
