BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested on charges that he assaulted a 74-year-old man apparently for not wearing a mask at a supermarket, The Connecticut Post reported. Verrol Clarke, 49, of Sanford Avenue was charged with first-degree assault on an elderly person, first-degree reckless endangerment, and refusing to be fingerprinted.
He was held on $100,000 bond.
The victim suffered bleeding of the brain due to the assault at the Stop & Shop on Main Street.
