I am a single parent looking for general household and childcare assistance as well as particular help caring for my grandpa who has dementia. Job requires assertive awareness of the need of the moment in several areas on a rotational basis. Caregiving for Gramps: *Tidying and weekly deep cleaning of my grandpa's room and bathroom. *Providing respite care when family has out of home activities. *Serving him meals and coffee as desired. *Taking him out of the house on occasion. General Household: *Light housekeeping as in vacuuming, cleaning the kitchen, dusting, putting things away. *Packing lunches, serving meals, maintaining organization. *Very occasional childcare of two 10 year old twins. Ideal candidate will have experience effectively running a busy household and will hold some understanding of dementia. Our household runs by agreements and attachment parenting and is a calm and peaceful environment. We embrace holistic healthcare which includes maintaining a clear ambiance. Children are respectful and well liked, very easy to get along with. Gramps has dementia but is also typically reasonable and easy going. He is in the 7th stage of dementia. Ideal candidate will be adept at learning the household culture and flow. The person hired for this position will have good boundaries, high emotional intelligence and the capacity for empathy. This is a part time (20 hours a week) contract job and with the exception of Fridays and particular dates and times hours will vary and can be flexible. Occasional weekend help may be required. Pay starts at $17 an hour for preliminary two week trial period then will be $20 an hour if hired permanently. Many candidates with various experience and backgrounds will be well qualified for this position.
