LONG VALLEY, NJ - Driving was a game of inches last week in Long Valley when 300 pounds of rock tumbled off of a rock face along Schooley's Mountain Road and smashed into a car, according to the Long Valley First Aid Squad. EMS and Rescue Services members responded with EMS 2, EMS 3, Rescue 1, Rescue 2 and Command, officials said. EMS assessed four patients while Rescue Services members practiced some heavy lifting and moving techniques- utilizing pinch bars and shovels to move the boulder across the road to a safe location, officials said. Schooleys Mountain Fire and Long Valley Fire also responded and the Washington Township Police Department secured the scene.
