Description
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello was sworn in for another term as mayor over the weekend.
Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon administered the oath of office to Murello on Saturday morning.
"Thank you also to the majority of the committee who voted to have me serve as mayor again in 2021," Murello said on his official Facebook page.
Murello won an uncontested bid for reelection to the Township Committee this past fall.
His second year-long term as mayor ends in 2021. The Washington Township committee will ultimately vote on who will serve as mayor the following year.
If the committee votes overwhelmingly "yes," there is the possibility that Murello could serve a third term as mayor.
