The Love Letters to Dayton is a bi-weekly series of talks given by local prominent figures, and cultural contributors at Lock 27 Brewing's Dayton Taproom. Topics will include cultural, technological, and economic contributions to Dayton, Ohio. The second talk in our series will be on Thursday, September 22nd by Luke Tandy, owner of Skeleton Dust Records. Luke's talk titled, " A Few of My Favorite Songs," will include a discussion about Luke's life journey through music while he spins some of his favorite tunes. Some of the topics Luke will cover include: growing up with music, operating his record store, some of his favorite experiences with the Dayton community, and the ups and downs of the store since it opened in 2017. Luke has an eclectic taste in music, so he will describe some of his favorite music genres of today. (And he'd love to hear about yours too!) Event Details: -This event is free to the public, however we ask that you sign up to reserve a spot via Eventbrite. -The talk will begin at 7:00pm and should last about 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of music DJed by Luke. -We highly encourage people arrive early to order their food prior to the commencement of the talk by Luke. A little bit about Luke & Skeleton Dust Records: Luke founded Skeleton Dust Records in October 2017. The store is located in the Fireblocks District of downtown Dayton, Ohio. It features an eclectic and curated selection of pop, rock, alternative, metal, punk, noise, industrial, experimental, electronic, funk/soul, jazz, reggae, hip hop, folk, blues, country, and world music on vinyl, CD, and cassette format. The store also offers a selection of printed materials and new & used equipment. Additionally, it acts as an art space for live performances and visual art showings from artists in the Dayton area and beyond.
