Description
The world is incredibly charged right now. It seems like everyone is depressed, anxious, angry, grieving, offended, isolated... The church is carrying a huge burden right now, but things don't seem to work like they did before and congregations are dwindling. You offer prayer, a listening ear, pastoral counseling, small groups, connection with mentors, programs, communal events, and so much more. So what do you do when people are still in pain? What is going on?
As a trauma therapist, I also work with people who are in pain every day. I also get to watch as people recover, and it beautifully reflects the Gospel of Jesus. I am offering this free workshop to people serving in ministry. The phrase "trauma" gets thrown around a lot in our culture. We will unpack what "trauma" truly is: what causes it, how it works, and the impacts on the brain and relationships. We will look at trauma recovery, and how the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus can provide hope and guidance for how we can help people who are suffering. We will also look at what "trauma-informed" ministry could look like, and how the work you are already doing aligns deeply with the heart of Christ for people in pain.
This workshop is intended to be a collaborative, and makes room for your personal experiences in ministry. Please be sure to grab your ticket so we know how much room to have. I look forward to meeting you!
