Please join the Embassy Suites by Hilton Noblesville Team during our Banquet Team Hiring Event on Tuesday, September 20th from 8am - 12pm. We will be hosting on-site interviews for all Banquet positions, along with offering the opportunity to meet with some of our current (and possibly your future team members.) Open positions include: Banquet Setup/HousepersonBanquet BartenderBanquet ServerBanquet DishwasherBanquet CaptainBANQUET SETUP & HOUSEPERSON (PART-TIME & FULL-TIME) BASIC PURPOSE: Set up and breakdown of banquet events according to standard policies and procedures in a safe, accident-free manner. FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Check BEOs to determine function • Set up tables and chairs in function area according to standard policies and procedures • Remove all trash breakdown, and clean thoroughly;. Return all equipment and supplies to proper area. BANQUET CAPTAIN (PART-TIME) BASIC PURPOSE: Supervise banquet staff in the completion of the assigned functions and set-up, as well as oversee the service and break-down functions in a safe, accident-free manner. FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Check server and houseperson BEOs to ensure that all information is accurate. • Check room set-up to see that BEO directions are completely followed. • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation method for each item to be served. • Schedule and coordinate Team Members. • Ensure that all public areas are neat and clean. • Make contact with group representatives. Explain how to make contact if needed throughout the function. • Communicate all BEO changes to catering office and affected departments. • Coordinate with banquet staff set-ups, changes and time schedules for all functions. • Verify staffing levels for the next day's functions. Adjust schedules accordingly through the addition or cancellation of servers/bartender/house-persons. • Operate as a banquet server when needed; setting-up, greeting and serving the guest and breaking-down the function. • Inspect banquet areas at end of function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all • areas are clean. • Recap all banquet checks at end of day and turn in to Night Audit if current policy dictates. BANQUET BARTENDER (PART-TIME) BASIC PURPOSE: Set up, tend and maintain the bar/restaurant bar area in a professional and courteous manner, abiding by all safety and liquor service guidelines in the process. FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Work with bar and restaurant management to determine in-house events to anticipate and plan for bar business • Set up bar and restaurant areas according to standard policies and procedures • Make and serve drinks to guests in a cordial, professional manner following established guidelines, policies and procedures regarding beverages and safety controls as prescribed by SUN, the state and the hotel • Assist with taking food orders and delivering of orders when necessary, always in a professional, courteous and efficient manner • Remove all liquor glasses and dishware from tables, tablecloths, trash and liquor from bar/restaurant area. • Ensure cleanliness of bar and restaurant area continually throughout shift BANQUET SERVER (FULL-TIME & PART-TIME) BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for set-up, maintenance and service for all food and beverage orders within the function space while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of SUN standards and profit maximization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Greet guests/clients within 2 minutes of being seated and take all customer orders in accordance with operating policies and procedures • Maintain visible presence in a professional and courteous manner based on trained standards. • Deliver all food items to table, on time and within specified guidelines. • Set-up, cleaning, tear down and maintenance of function areas. • Have knowledge of all food and beverage products offered during events, describing in great detail flavors, textures and highlights. • Complete all shift sidework as outlined in the hotel's operating policies and procedures. • Respond to client needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience. Report all communications to Banquet Captain. • Perform all cash handling responsibilities as applicable in accordance with SUN policies and procedures. BASIC PURPOSE: Keep all washable dishware & equipment/supplies clean and stocked at the proper level throughout all hours of operation in order to ensure proper service to all guests. BANQUET DISHWASHER (FULL-TIME & PART-TIME) FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensure that the dishwashing station is set up properly for ware washing and that the correct chemicals are used/levels maintained at State and company standards for ware washing sanitization. • Maintain the dishwashing station in a neat and orderly condition at all times. • Advise supervisor when ware washing chemical levels are low and/or need to be replaced. Assist all servers in constantly checking the restaurant/bar/lobby areas for dirty dishes, empty glasses, cleanliness, etc. • Do regular hourly floor checks of all hotel guest room floors for dirty room service dishes left in the hallway. • Operate glass washers and ware washing machines as necessary, putting clean glassware in its place, checking often to ensure that there is enough on hand for the service period and replenishing key service areas. • Sweep and mop all back of house areas during and at the end of every shift, removing, cleaning and replacing matting each time. • Assist in set-up/break-down of dining areas as requested by manager. • Assist in cleaning tables/public spaces as needed.
