Description
The Radical Climbing Festival centers individuals whose voices and bodies are not often represented as the face of rock climbing, yet are at the forefront of expanding access and affirming spaces for all climbers. The gathering is designed as a space for climbers of color, adaptive climbers, and LGTBQIA+ climbers with a specific focus on trans and nonbinary folks. The event brings together individuals for a weekend of learning, community-building, and of course, climbing. All attendees must be 18+ and have prior climbing experience. You must bring your own gear. Our Guiding Principles and Values: https://www.radicalclimbingfestival.com/values We acknowledge the land we climb on during RCF. This festival will be held on the traditional and unceded land of the Abenaki and Wabenaki people. We challenge non-Indigenous climbers to learn about the rich history of the land. Our existence outdoors will always be inherently politicized due to the history of this country. As you climb and enjoy this beautiful outdoor space, remember to respect this land and follow Leave No Trace principles. For more information on New Hampshire Indigenous History, visit Indigenous New Hampshire (indigenousnh.com) For more information on traditional lands, visit: https://native-land.ca SCHEDULEFridayAttendee Check-in (5pm-10pm ET) 5-6pm arrival highly encouragedEarly-bird programDinner (provided)Welcome and Icebreaker (7:00 pm -9:00 pm)Quiet Hours (11pm)SaturdayBreakfast (provided)Climbs!Dinner on your own (cook inside, cook outside, local restaurants)Panel (8:00pm-9:00pm)Raffle Evening movie (9:00pm-10:30pm)Quiet Hours (11pm)SundayBreakfast on your ownEveryone pack out! Climbs!LODGINGWe have rented out the entire indoor space of the Barn Door Hostel, 5min from the crag. It has lounge space, a kitchen and long tables, limited fridge space, and WiFi. The outdoor campgrounds are not exclusively RCF participants. Thanks to our sponsors, indoor and outdoor lodging fees have been covered. Restrooms/showers are not gendered. There are 3 private indoor showers (1 is ADA compliant) and 1 outdoor shower for outdoor guests. Accessibility: The parking lot is loose gravel and there is a lip about 2 inches high at the front door. All of the hostel is on the first floor, except the hammock loft. There is a low-angle ramp from the kitchen area into the shower/restroom area. For climbers with physical accessibility needs who want to tent, we suggest reserving in the lower lot because it is more accessible than the steep climb to the upper lot. You will indicate your lodging preferences and requirements in the registration. RCF will contact you 1-2 weeks prior to the event to confirm which sleeping spot you have been assigned and to provide you with other important lodging information. If you have any questions about lodging, please first seek your answers on the hostel website (https://www.barndoorhostel.com/welcome#/faqs) before contacting [email protected].
