Description

As REALTORS, we are sometimes expected to meet total strangers. If you find yourself in this situation, with no good way of getting out of this scenario, there are things you must do in order to protect yourself and ensure your safety. Our instructor Bruce Simms, will teach us ways to prevent this situation and ways to protect ourselves. This event offers 1 hour of CE credit! This is an easy way to get an hour of class credit with your fellow Realtors that you enjoy visiting with anyway! From Bruce..... I began in this industry as a Real Estate Agent over 26 years ago. Wanting to be more efficient for my clients, I learned the lending side of the business as well early on. I worked in both capacities as Realtor and Lender for many years until lending evolved into my full-time pathway. I have seen the market and industry go through many changes and survived my share of rough markets and crashes. This experience has made me a stronger, smarter, and more efficient Loan Officer. I have taught safety for new realtors at MTAR for over 15 years as well as many brokerage offices in Williamson, Wilson, Bedford, Franklin, Cannon, Davidson, and Rutherford Counties. We will talk about the dangers of your job being a Realtor, safety myths, past attacks on Realtors locally and nationally, Self Defense Tips for Men and Woman, Active Shooter Do’s and Don’t’s, Know who you are dealing with, Safety apps, Layering yourself with Safety training, weapons and knowledge, Open House and New Construction Safety Tips. I am a family man with 4 children: 2 daughters, 2 sons, and 2 grandsons. And this is my family business as my wife is my loan assistant having worked with me most of my career. I have lived on a small farm in Rutherford County for many years now after leaving my native Wilson County where I was a graduate of Mt.Juliet High School. I am a 2nd Degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and hold two National Championship Titles. I enjoy attending and participating in local car shows with some of my collector cars.
