Hello! My name is Matt and I'm a luthier in Cloverdale offering a number of services to keep your guitar or bass in tip-top shape. I initially learned lutherie by completing the master program at the Galloup school in Michigan; since completing the program I've spent the last six years further honing my skillset by making several guitars, both acoustic and electric, as well as doing numerous setups, repairs and modifications. I use proper techniques and specialized tooling to ensure my work is as accurate and clean as possible. Here are a few of the services I'm offering for both acoustic and electric instruments: Bench Fee/Consultation: an in person evaluation of the instrument to diagnose problems and create a game plan of work to be performed, this fee will be considered the first hour of work should you choose to move forward with repairs; i.e. you will not be charged on top of the cost of repairs - $40 Basic Setup: polish frets and deburr sharp ends, new strings, adjust truss rod, set action, dial in nut slots, intonate, clean electronics etc. - $80 (Floyd Rose - $100) Fret Dress: accurately mill, crown and polish frets for lowest possible action, setup/clean etc. - $160 Refret: pull and replace old worn frets, dress new frets, setup etc. - $260, (Stainless Steele Frets - $300) "Ding" Repair: drop fill small dent in finish, re-level and buff to hide blemishes - $80 Hand Carved Bone Nut: custom fit and slot a new bone nut - $80 Hand Carved Acoustic Saddle: custom fit and shape a new saddle from bone for your acoustic - $60 *Please note that these prices are general estimates, each job is different and the overall price depends on the amount of work being performed as well as the budget for a given job.
