Detroit SOUP is powered by Build Institute IDEATORS: Do you have a food business? This event is going to be a food-centric Detroit SOUP so all four ideators will pitch food businesses. We are hosting this September event to highlight and support food entrepreneurs. Any food businesses that submit an application for the September event have the potential to be chosen for our December 1st Food-centric Detroit SOUP Grand Finale. The December Detroit SOUP event will have a panel of judges and the winner will take home a $10,000 cash prize and one year of financial coaching. So apply today and keep an eye out, food entrepreneurs, for our upcoming events! Need funding? We are accepting applications to pitch your idea at SOUP. Your idea must be a food business. Go here to enter your application to share your idea and (maybe) win the pot of money: Submit Detroit SOUP Idea COMMUNITY: Would you like to attend a soup? Register here on Eventbrite for an evening of community, networking, ideas, creativity, and Detroit tradition. Normally a ticket buys you a soup dinner and a vote. But for this event your ticket will go to supporting entrepreneurs who need support starting their business. The funding for tonight's $10,000 cash prize is coming from Boston Beer and will be given to the winner along with one year of financial coaching. Tonight the audience will be here to support and cheer on the ideators and to sit back and enjoy. Next month we will be back to normal crowd directed events. LEARN MORE: If you would like to learn more about Detroit SOUP go to the Build Institute website: Detroit SOUP and to the Detroit SOUP website: https://detroitsoup.buildinstitute.org HISTORY: SOUP was started in Chicago with the artist group, inCUBATE. It was a modest dinner having artists and community members share a meal and help fund art ideas in neighborhoods. Slowly the idea began to spread around the United States and in 2010 it landed with a group of artists and friends that started it Detroit. The early days of the dinner were still focused on local art projects but through time and experiences the dinner adapted to the community and found a model that worked not just for the city of Detroit but cities all over the world. detroitsoup.buildinstitute.org
