I've posted here a few times and have received a few responses from some cool people... but not what I'm looking for yet. I think what's different about what I'm looking for, as compared to what most people trying to form bands on here are looking for, is that I'm not interested in music as a conduit for fame, fortune, partying, politics, getting laid, tribalism, age cliques, etc. I'm into music for the musical experimentation and exploration itself. so I'm still trying to bring together a few like-minded people who would like to do something in the progressive, psychedelic, atmospheric hard rock genre. with more emphasis on tone, texture, mixing, voicing, instrumentation, theme, lyrics, etc., than is typical... e.g., old Rush, Zeppelin, Floyd, Yes, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, etc. No covers. I'm only interested in original music and re-interpretations. I'm primarily a guitarist and electronic musician. random example: the background music from a sci-fi series from about 10yrs ago (Dark Matter). the drums and percussion were aggressive, loud and way out front in the mix, as well as the synth sounds... guitars were heavily distorted, ethereal and way back in the mix. it was a unique sound for a sci-fi show. I have a band name/concept in mind and a fair amount of material written. some general examples of my music are at the link below. I don't put the really good stuff on there, though.
