All Star Labor and Staffing is currently looking for general assembly candidates to work for a company that produces animal bi-products. Working conditions: The daily work schedule hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all 9 hour days. The daily work schedule hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all Short Days (8 hour days). Job purpose: Formulating Technicians assist in fulfilling the specifications of each customer order. Production Manager establishes each work day plan. Formulating Technician will accurately blend products assigned to them for each work day. Production Manager/Production Supervisor coordinate work tasks of the Formulating Technicians for each work day. Duties and responsibilities Customer Orders • Responsible for training co-workers and temporary workers to ensure quality control standards are met. • Accurately fulfills (blends) formulations according to customer specifications. • Carefully fills ingredient weights into formulated product according to customer order notes. • Works efficiently, with emphasis on strict quality control standards established in the animal food safety plan Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). • Retains product sample after formula completion for verification of accuracy and 2-year storage. • Records all calculations, ingredient lot #’s, time of batch runs, scales used, and mixers used, etc. according to formulation sheet. Only written on the original customer formula sheet. • Formulating Technician must sign and date who blended a product on the designated area on the formula sheet. • Is trained and may be utilized in upper production to operate filling and sealing machines. • Makes sure all packaging is free from dust or paste residue. • Makes sure labels are placed on packaging with care. Trained in SOP # 105. Customer packaging must always have a clean, professional appearance. • Ensures all corrugated boxes are taped securely for shipment depending on UPS vs. Truck shipment. • Uses caution and double check system to ensure labels are properly marked with correct lot #’s, expiration date, product name, for each customer order. • Immediately informs Production Manager/Production Supervisor if a formula or packaging deviates from customer specifications. Product overages/shortages during batch formulation is immediately reported to Production Manager/Production Supervisor. Shipping • Assists production team during shipping process by making sure customer orders are clearly marked for identification. • Assures that the correct shipping label/s are placed on customer orders. • Assists in making sure packaging is properly secured for shipments. i.e. properly taped or on pallets. Labels • Reviews label content for accuracy. Discrepancies are immediately reported to direct supervisor. • Labels are centered correctly, and cleanly, on boxes, pouches, tubes, etc. Production Supplies • Assists Purchasing/Production Assistant in maintaining inventory levels for all ingredients or packaging needed for production operations. • Immediately notifies Purchasing/Production Assistant when ingredients/materials need to be ordered. Cleaning/Sanitation • Assist in the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning SOP’s--#106 and 107 • Responsible for cleaning/picking up throughout the production workday. • All Production Technicians (ABT Employees or temporary) must adhere to hygiene requirements stated in the Animal Food Safety Plan. ABT Employees or temporary workers are trained in FSC 36 hygiene requirements prior to starting first day of employment work in production areas. Qualifications Education/Knowledge/Experience • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language. • Proficiency in basic math. • Legible hand writing. • Must adhere to all requirements of the FSC 36 animal food safety plan pertaining to production. • Ability to lift a maximum of 60 lbs. • Must be teachable, and willing to carry out directions of direct supervisor. • Any combination of education or special training related to a production environment. Working conditions 9/80 schedule The daily work schedule hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all 9 hour days. The daily work schedule hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on all Short Days (8 hour days). Morning Break will be 10 minutes starting at 9:00 a.m. on 9 hour work days. Morning Break will be 10 minutes starting at 10:00 a.m. on 8 hour Short Days. Lunch Break will be 30 minutes starting at 11:30 a.m. daily. Afternoon Break will be 10 minutes starting at 2:00 p.m. daily. The 9/80 work schedule overlaps two weeks. Therefore the middle of the Short Day designates the end of one week and the beginning of the next week. For example: The 9/80 is starting on the beginning of the new pay period which is Friday, Feb. 26, 2021. We are starting with that day being the Flex Day. The work schedule continues into the following week with 9 hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 4 hours on Friday (Short Day) with the first half of the work schedule ending at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 5th. The 2nd half of the work schedule begins on Friday, March 5th, at 12:00 p.m. with 4 hours being worked on Friday, March 5th and continues into the following week with 9 hours worked on Mon., Tues., Wed., Thur. for a total of 40 hours worked and Friday, March 12th as the next Flex Day (day off). • Drug and alcohol-free environment. See company policy for details. Must pass UA upon hiring. Willing to submit to random UA’s. • Expected to work together with fellow co-workers. A culture of team work, and cooperation is expected during each work day. • Assembly Technician (ABT Employee or temporary worker) is not authorized to perform any task the person has not been trained to perform. • No jewelry, of any kind, allowed on productions floors.
