We are currently looking for two Full Time Ground Section Workers. WAILEA BLUE LLC POSITION DESCRIPTION Job Title: Grounds/Section Worker Division: Golf Course Maintenance Incumbent: Reports to: Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Dept.: Golf Course Golf Course Superintendent JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of general labor duties necessary to the care and maintenance of golf course ground cover, And landscaping in and around fairways, roughs, tees, greens, etc. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Ordinary hand tools such as a hoe, shovel, sickle, can knife, rake, pick, wheelbarrow, spot spray tank, weed eater, edger, golf cart, walking rotary mower, light utility vehicle, etc. MATERIALS: Soil, weeds, grass, water, etc. SOURCE AND NATURE OF SUPERVISION: Supervised by Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendent who assigns work and checks performance. May receive working direction from higher-rated Golf Course personnel. PRIMARY DUTIES: 1. Performs a variety of unskilled manual tasks connected with the care and maintenance of Golf Course ground cover, and landscaping in and around greens, tees, fairways, and sand traps, such as weeding, trimming, raking, irrigating, etc. 2. Assists with applying fertilizer (including lifting and loading fertilizer), herbicides or insecticides, or in the application of irrigation water, performing such duties as directed. 3. Uses equipment to mow around trees and other obstacles that larger equipment cannot mow. 4. Observes all Company house rules and regulations, including but not limited to safety regulations, following safe practices in the performance of assigned tasks, and practicing good housekeeping in assigned work areas. 5. Transports self and tools in a golf cart or light utility vehicle to assigned work areas. In doing so, may be required to perform minimal maintenance tasks such as filling vehicles with gasoline, oil, water, etc. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school graduate. 2. Previous labor and landscape experience helpful. 3. Valid driver’s license is required. POSITION DESCRIPTION GROUNDS/SECTION WORKER Page Two PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB: Frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, handling, stooping, kneeling, squatting, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of up to 50 lobs., exposure to heat, sunlight, dust, dirt, chemicals, and fertilizers, and other environmental conditions typically associated with golf course conditions. Occasionally requires sitting, digging, crouching, and/or crawling, lifting/carrying/pulling/pushing of up to 100 lbs., operation of a golf cart on uneven terrain, operation of a light utility truck, and exposure to gases, fumes, golf balls in play wet and other environmental conditions associated with working on golf courses. Examples of tools and equipment used: sickle, cane knife, hoe, shovel, pick, spot spray tank, wheelbarrow, weed eater, waking rotary mower, light utility truck, golf cart, etc. Visual capabilities required: good to excellent vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, color vision. Job experiences approximately 8 hours outdoors and 0 hours indoors.
