The Oakland Family Reunion is a FREE, family friendly event where all are welcome! Join us for a day of play and healing at The Bridgeyard's outdoor space "The Playground." The event features: Live Music - Queen Deelah feat Stretch Musik band + Ray Ryda & Marke$e | DJs Kleptic & Emelle Roller Skating Rink and Akoma Market, featuring local vendors - Hosted by the Black Cultural Zone Kiddie Zone - Jumpers, double dutch tournament and arts & crafts with Bay Peace, Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY) and Homies EmpowermentFood TrucksGames, Raffles & much more!Follow Oakland Family Reunion on IG About Oakland Family Reunion: Over the past few years, especially, we have felt a lot of stress and pressure from a pandemic, financial hardships, and increased violence in our communities. Youth and community leaders have come together to call for community resilience, healing and mental health awareness, and reminding us of the importance of family in Oakland. Not just the family you're born into but your chosen family who love, support, and hold you down. Oakland is a city with a strong communal and family culture. Urban Peace Movement, the Oakland Family Reunion, Oakland Venue Management, and community members are creating this intergenerational space where we can uplift one another and highlight the importance of family, mental health, and healing. Getting to the Location: The Bridge Yard is located at 210 Burma Rd within the Judge John Sutter Regional Shoreline Park.
