Collective, collaborate or just noodle around

Spokane WA
Description
Hi fellow musicians. I'm wishing Spokane had a bit more happening, collaboration-wise, and was wondering if there are any fellow musical travelers out there who might be craving the same sort of interactions that I am. I'll try my best to expound/articulate, and hopefully meet few other journeyers as a result. I picture a collective, or maybe even a regular meetup group of fellow players who want to share their ideas, seek feedback or noodle through whatever they're working on or struggling with in a group context. It could be genre agnostic or targeted, copy or original oriented. A totally ground floor blue sky idea just forming, so please be supportive and positive in your responses. In my case I'm a long-time guitar player frustrated with my lot who's attempting to transition to Bass and explore beat-making in the context of classic-rock/soul/funk. I played garage rock for a few decades, but sadly the glory days of gigging on a full or half-stack SLP just doesn't seem to be a practical reality any longer for me, and incorporating electronic elements and influences while scaling down the loadout seems like a smart path to take. The 3-piece dynamic can also sometimes be problematic for me so I seek 2-piece, or even 1 Man Band alternatives while still sounding dynamic and full, but still fresh in a performance. Call me a goof but I've sequenced Honky Tonk Women, and frankly it's sounds as tired (more so) than it did with a live 3-piece - I obviously need help re-imagining a new path, and I can't help but think there could be a opportunity here for a collective effort. That same collective might be a good venue to discuss gear, tone, technique and trends that the various members are exploring, as well as showcase new riffs, seek feedback, scout bandmembers and plug your latest project. As an alternative, I'm also seeking another guitar player learning bass or a bassist learning guitar who might want to swap notes and possibly form something while we alternate between instruments, if the larger collective idea doesn't fit your comfort zone. If any of this sounds even remotely interesting, or even better resonates with you personally, please reply to the CL email and we can exchange email and text contacts Thanks Matt
