8th grade students and their families are invited to learn about the Academy for Performing Arts located at Morris Knolls High School in Rockaway. This Academy offers a major in Dance, Theater or Vocal. - Students with a Dance major will work with master teachers and professional choreographers. -Students with a Theater major will be ready for almost any college major or career path encountered in the 21st Century, having acquired enhanced and developed imaginative capacity, flexible ways of thinking, self-discipline, and sophisticated presentation skills. - Students with a Vocal Performance major will acquire advanced skills in solo vocal performance (classical and musical theater), ensemble performance, music theory, piano studies, and audition techniques. The academies of Morris County Vocational School District offer students a unique high school experience combining comprehensive academics with career and technical education (academy classes). By attending this session, students and families will have the opportunities to: - learn about the academy course of study that extends beyond a traditional high school curriculum - understand the admissions process and application system - meet current students - tour the facility and academy classroom Please make sure to have registration ready at time of check in (printed or on your phone)
