Best Bar/ Restaurant gets $100 cash, a plaque to hang on the wall, and of course bragging rights for the year! ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐‘๐ž๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ: Each contestant is to bring in 5-6 quarts in a crockpot. Contestants need to arrive at 4 PM the day of the competition to set up station- please bring serving spoon (we will provide tasting cups, spoons, and napkins) 1 qt of the chilli will be given to the judges for tasting. Contestants are responsible for any toppings they would like to include- Toppings cannot be used during judging. We ask contestants to indicate to tasters and judges if the chili is abnormally spicy/hot (ghost pepper chili, habanero chili, etc) ๐‰๐ฎ๐๐ ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐›๐ž ๐›๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ง: Color -- Does the chili look appetizing? Does it look bright and colorful or dull and bland? Aroma -- Does it smell good? Does the aroma make you want to dig in? Consistency -- How is the meat-to-sauce ratio? It shouldn't be runny, mushy or overly thick. Taste -- How is the flavor? Do the ingredients blend well, or is one too overpowering? Does the first bite make you want another one? Aftertaste -- Once you swallow, is there a spicy taste ("bite") that stays on your tongue?
