Martinez Field (Eastlake High School) Registration: $30 (includes tournament dry-fit shirt) Admission: $5 for spectators Booth space for local vendors email: [email protected] Age Groups & Approximate Times*Tournament times are subject to change based on number of entrants per age-group* Ages 10/U: 8:00 AM (Homerun & Longball) Ages 11/12: 9:30 AM (Homerun & Longball) Ages 13-15: 11:00 AM (Homerun Only) Ages 16-18: 12:30 PM (Homerun Only) Ages 19-29 : 2:00 PM (Homerun Only) Ages 30/Older: 3:30 PM (Homerun Only)*Reception to follow at a local establishment* RulesThere will be a maximum of 16 players per age group. Specific homerun distances will be marked for 10/U, 11/12, & 13/15 age groups Homeruns will be tallied, and a long ball will be marked for 12/U. First round of 16, all batters will have 1:30 to hit as many homeruns as possible. Second round of 8, all batters will have 2:00 to hit as many homeruns as possible. Third round of 4, all batters will have 2:30 seconds to hit as many homeruns as possible. Final round of 2, batters will have 3 minutes to hit as many homeruns as possible. All balls must land before next pitch is thrown. All participants are required to submit a signed MPW-LLM Participant Releaseform. Minors must have a Participant Release signed by their legal guardian prior to participating. Any participant that is found to not have submitted their Participant Release form will not be allowed to participate. OperationsField Dimensions: - 10/U = 170 feet (marked with stakes and yard tape) - 11/12 = 220 feet (marked with stakes and yard tape) - 13/14 = Front edge of warning track (308 L, 365 C, 308 R) - 15/O = Homerun Fence (318 L, 375 C, 318 R, + fence height) Pitching:- Each batter will provide their own pitcher. - The pitcher must be positioned and pitching from behind an - L-Screen for the tournament. o No closer than 30 feet for 12/U o Front of mound for 13/O - Live arm pitching only. *Side arm toss allowed for 10/U only. Catchers: Each pitcher/hitter can have their own catcher, or a catch net can be used. Shaggers: There will be some guest shaggers and judges (former Eastlake and local baseball players currently in professional organizations) out in the field for the 15/U long ball & homerun derby tournament. Local high school baseball players will shag for the older divisions (high school players will receive community service hours for volunteering for this event). Equipment: o Should be inspected prior to the start of the competition. o Balls will be regulation balls supplied by a local team/organization. o Bats must be declared and inspected by a competition judge. o Use of a helmet by the batter is mandatory. o Uniforms: all entrants will wear the MPW-LLM tournament dri-fit while batting.
