Bach's motets are his only choral works that were performed without interruption between his death in 1750 and today! The expressive use of the human voice combined with the virtuosic counterpoint that serves the text in amazing ways keeps singers and listeners spellbound until today. This program intersperses Bach’s famous motets with music by other members of the Bach family as well as by friends and colleagues, including Johann Ludwig Bach, Antonio Lotti, Gottfried A. Homilius, Johann Christoph Bach, and Georg Philipp Telemann.
