Enjoy free family festivities, fun in the sun! First 250 families that are pre-registered and attend the event will receive an Alamar blanket, $10 food voucher. One blanket and voucher per each family. Every household will receive one ticket, for a chance to win tickets to the "Truck Championship" at PIR on November 4th. Please make sure to check in at the Alamar VIP table. Join us on Saturday, October 8 as we celebrate the grand opening of Alamar Park, our new 40-acre park located in our Alamar community with family and dog-friendly festivities and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Alamar residents and the public are invited to attend this free event which will include fitness fun, sports demonstrations, food trucks, music, performers, kids’ crafts, and a self-guided home tour. Alamar Park features baseball/softball and multi-use fields, tennis, four pickleball courts, three playgrounds, a lake, a splash pad, an amphitheater, a dog park, and picnic ramadas for everyone to enjoy. The new park amenities will also include an outdoor Fitness Court® providing residents and visitors safe, free access to the “World’s Best Outdoor Gym” to keep active and stay healthy. This installation makes Avondale the third city in Arizona to join the National Fitness Campaign trend. Alamar Park was truly designed to be the hub for Alamar residents and the surrounding community. Furry Friends are especially welcome! Families are encouraged to bring their furry friends to the park’s dog park to experience the inaugural Avondale City pet-friendly event – Barks & Treats. Pups can partake in treats, photo opportunities, and a costume contest at the new dog park.
