Planes, Jets + Veterans! A Veterans Appreciation Event

WHAT TO EXPECT: Work alongside other families on a variety of veteran appreciation projects, including Thank You notes + patriotic kindness rocks. These projects will benefit vets at the State Veterans Home. In fitting with the theme, these give-back projects will take place in an airplane hanger on the grounds of the Pima Air & Space Museum. Kid + Family Volunteers will have {free} access to the Museum following completion of the project. WHY IS THIS WORK IMPORTANT: This hands-on volunteer work will benefit Pima Council on Aging (PCOA). Pima Council on Aging helps our community members age safely in place through a variety of services, including home delivered meals, grocery shopping for seniors who can no longer drive, home repair services, caregiver support programs + help with healthcare and legal assistance. Additionally, PCOA supports veterans at the State Veterans Home. KIND NOTES: This is an in-person volunteer project, that will take place in an airplane hanger. Masks are optional, based on your comfort level. Kid + Family Volunteers will have {free} access to the Museum following completion of the project. A takeaway snack will be provided for the Kid Volunteers at the completion of the project. Stay tuned for additional details to help you prepare for the day!
