The Lancaster Compost Co-op is excited to offer a hands-on workshop that is all about some of our favorite decomposers - mushrooms! Our journey into the Fungi Queerdom will involve learning all about how to grow your own edible mushrooms from common organic waste products, with some fun activities involving learning about the mushroom lifecycle and the connections between fungi and compost. Participants will be able assemble and bring home their own gourmet mushroom grow kits! We will also plant create a mushroom garden together. The workshop will be led by the co-op's very own Eve Bratman, Ph.D., CME (Community Mushroom Educator). Note: This event is pay-what-you-can at the door.
