Ever had an idea for a movie? A TV show? A short video? Maybe you didn’t know where to start, were scared to try, or just never got around to it? Maybe you love movies and TV and want to learn more about how they’re crafted, or just want to get the heck out of the house for a few fun hours. This is for you. I’m an Oscar-nominated Hollywood screenwriter who’s written and Co-Executive Produced movies and TV shows, both comedy and drama. I’ve written on staff for four network shows (you may even have seen some!) and I’ve sold over 20 pilots and movies to Hollywood studios and networks such as Warner Brothers, Universal, Comedy Central, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX and a bunch of others. I got my start in a small writing class in L.A., taught by a professional screenwriter. I have fond memories of it. It was fun. I met great people. And I learned a ton. Recently I moved to Scottsdale, and I travel to L.A. for work. Now it’s my turn to help you. This 8-week, small group course is based on everything I’ve learned in 20+ years in Hollywood. It's fun. It’s lively. It’ll teach you to write a great story with compelling characters, and you’ll finish a completed short film screenplay. (I also judge the short films for the Academy Awards every year, so I can share tips on how to make yours great.) I’ll explain how a writers’ room works and share inside stories from the trenches. You’ll learn what the heck us writers do behind the scenes of your favorite movies and shows. This is for all ages and backgrounds. Everyone has a story to tell. I’ll help you tell it. Who knows?
